Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: Parking Lot Worship

The work of the Christiania Re-Engagement Team is coming to completion. Thank you, team, for creating the “guidelines and guardrails” that will serve to minimize risk and guide our re-engagement. We should continue to keep in mind, however, that the Covid 19 virus is still alive and active and we may need to continue to pivot or make adjustments as needed. Gathering together will be wonderful but will come with increased risk so we continue to follow the recommendations of both the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

Our church council plans to meet this week and is expected to approve the plan so we can begin to re-engage. Provided the plan is approved, we anticipate our first worship together will be a Parking Lot Worship (remaining in cars) at 9:00 am this Sunday (June 21). As we re-engage there will be specific instructions we will all have to pay attention to. Two important details are likely to be continuing to practice social distancing and registering ahead of time for worship. As we are spacing for social distancing, there will be limitations on the number of attendees (both inside the building and in the parking lot) and we will need to collect names and contact information of attendees for contact tracing. There are other specifics related to Parking Lot Worship you'll want to be aware of. You can find instructions in this email as well as a link to register to

We will continue to communicate via email, Facebook, and on our website. Please know that in addition to Parking Lot Worship the Worship Committee is also working on plans for Outdoor Worship (in chairs) and Indoor Worship (in the sanctuary) in the weeks ahead.

Please know we're as excited as many of you are to get back together. However, we want to do it safely and thoughtfully--especially because so many in our midst are at greater risk by age and health.
